I am a product of Bridgeport Public Schools and grew up in a low-income, immigrant family. Today, I am a college graduate and Bridgeport homeowner. I’ve spent my life serving Bridgeport and communities like it, first as a public school teacher and then as education advocate and non-profit leader. I am running because I believe in Bridgeport and because I love Bridgeport. If elected, I will bring a variety of skills and experiences to the City Council. I will also bring my unwavering conviction that Bridgeport is and can continue to be a place we can all be proud to live in.

A lack of economic development which leads to chronic joblessness among residents, generational poverty, and high property taxes. To address this I would:
1)    Address the concerns of small business owners such that they have the support they need to grow their businesses in the city
2)    Work with my fellow Council members, the Mayor, and his staff to recruit businesses to Bridgeport
3)    Research national best practices and programs for workforce development and re-entry employment
4)    Build relationships with Bridgeport chambers of commerce and host job fairs and trainings to connect residents to existing job opportunities
5)    Continue my learning in the field of urban economic development and study success stories from other cities across the country to then apply them to Bridgeport

I will ensure transparency and communication on Council matters with residents by creating a 136th District Facebook Page to provide regular Council updates and hosting quarterly neighborhood meetings to address residents’ concerns face-to- face.
